Analysis of Existing Magazine Covers from my Chosen Magazine Genre.

COLOUR
The masthead colours have kept the same colour as Harry Styles' face. This makes it look sensible and sophisticated, also the colour theme only consists of two colours, black and white. This gives a sensible classic feel towards the magazine cover, also reflecting what the magazine might be like for new buyers. The position of the masthead is also important because when they are stacked in a shop, they are on top of eachother, the position helps because thats all they will see in the shop so they will recognise the magazine. The colour of the subtitles along the bottom however could potentially be changed so that it fades from white to black, this is because it contrasts with the picture making it harder to read.

LAYOUT
With there being no pug or kicker suggests that the main story is most important and it will be all readers will want to know about, they are not advertising other story's which are inside of the magazine. There is no barcode on the front of the page suggesting that they dont want to clutter the page, meaning that the front page will be the main seller. Also the person in the image is in the spotlight which suggests that he is superior to everyone else.

LANGUAGE
The dialogue used in the magazine cover is very soft, this suggests that it is a magazine for girls maybe. The reason for this is because of the subtitle, 'i like girls my own age too'.

The splash on this magazine cover is cleverly layered. The first G and A are behind the celebrity and the second G and A are in front. This shows that they do not really have to tell the readers who it is on the cover because she is very well know. The colour scheme is also very bold. It only consists of Red , black and white. This is good because it stands out when it is on the shelves, however it does not look silly with a lot of different colours. Lady Gaga's pose on the main image is a medium long shot. This means that you can see all of her from the legs up. Her pose is very seductive towards the reader. This maybe meaning that the magazine is aimed at males.

There is no Pug on the page. The kicker, which also keeps to the colour scheme, advertises another story which is inside the magazine. The masthead which shows which magazine it is, is in the corner of the newspaper as it is on most Q magazines. This follows the theme because if they changed the normal Q box then readers would not know which magazine it is and they would not buy it. They would buy a different magazine that interests them.

The main image on this magazine cover is a medium close up. The facial expression is a serious one, and gives a sophisticated, serious, slender look. Once again the magazine uses a 3 colour colour theme. This keeps it simple and makes it attractive to look at. Jay-Z is layered behind the text, this suggesting that maybe he does not need to be the centre of attention; or that the magazine is not as developed and well known therefore need to be recognised more. The barcode is in a awkward place on the front of the cover. The reason why it is on the front and not on the back is because of advertisements which are on the back. That is the money maker for magazines such as this one. Jay-Z also is looking in a direct gaze to the reader suggesting that he is talking to y
